Mouthy

Why is it so hard for us to say things nicely and appropriately? For instance, you want to tegur someone for something they did. Did you really have to find an excuse to bash them? Like you can pull them aside and softly tell them that what they did was wrong and it can be corrected instead of yelling insults and say hurtful words out of nowhere. Was it really necessary to say the most offensive words just to make your point across?

This is random but I feel like many of us forget that others are human too. Each and every one of us have our own way to deal with problems and troubles that it may come out as something wrong or harsh to others. Either way, no one else know ourselves better than we do. Which in that case we all need to remember that everyone has their own battle to fight and problems to solve. Don't go around and be saying hurtful words just because what they did looked wrong in your eyes. You never know how far your words can affect them. If you do, I can assure you that you don't want to be responsible for the damage and vowed not to speak ever again.

Think before you speak.

Moment of Realisation

I think that this blog needs a break from all the beauty posts. I mean, life is not all rainbows and sprinkles. Kita kena la berpijak di bumi yang nyata kan?

Ever since I finished my high school, I spent a lot of time thinking and noticing the tiny details of a situation that I looked past before. It's not that bad but it's not that good, really.

When you are no more longer studying your ass off for grades, you don't work and you haven't start your college yet, you will start to realise that the ones that you thought were your rock for the rest of your life was just an acquaintance that happened to be met and seen everyday. It takes a lot of time to accept that truth.

I also learn that people come and go as they please. Once they realise that you can't benefit them in any way, they will leave. They just do. As if nothing happened. It's okay. It really is as long as you know that you worth more than a friend that left you because you can't give them what they want anymore. I mean, it is so offensive and hurtful but then life is supposed to be offensive and hurtful. What makes it better is how we handle it.

I learn that I need to have high tolerance and constantly anticipating in order for me to not get disappointed or sad. I also learn that beating your chest and screaming on top of your lungs will never solve the problem though it does release some of the stress. I learn that I need to manage my anger because I need to be a mature person yang tk senang melatah. I need to start thinking widely and deeply. I realise that not everyone understands me how I understand myself. But it's okay. I will learn and I will be a better person.

I also learn that removing people that are toxic to me is therapeutic and is the best thing I can do to help myself to be emotionally stable. As much as I love these people, I can't let them beat me up and drain my blood for things that cannot benefit me or make me happy. I can't let them find me when they are in trouble and disappear the moment they taste happiness. But I also need to remember that I can be toxic to others too and that is normal because if one can be harmful, I can be harmful to them too. Right now, I just need to pray to Allah that I don't do that to others and I will be treated as nice as I treat others.

As the days of me entering college getting closer, i realise that I need to start having my own principles and rules. Not to be rigid, just to make my life simpler. After all, we need rules to break anyway.

For future Fatin, I hope you make it in life and you are surrounded by people who know how to spoil you and how stubborn can you be when you start to hate on something. I hope you become someone that little Fatin would look up to if she had the chance and i hope that you have the highest degree of manners. Because 18 year old Fatin thinks and knows that manners can open doors that degree can't. I hope you are well and you are kicking ass.

Love, Fatin

A Trip With the Girls

"Over the weekend, we made something that cannot be bought; memories"

Last week, my girls and I went for a 4-day trip to the Langkawi Island. It. Was. Lit. Words cannot describe how phenomenal the trip was. I have to thank Nurul for the impromptu plan because seriously she planned everything all I know is that I had to bank in some money and voila, we are on the plane, flying to Langkawi.

We stayed at Malibest Resort, Pantai Cenang. It has the price of a budget hotel but amenities of a 7-star hotel. The beach was clean, the room was complete, easily accessible and the best part, 7 eleven is literally across the street. I will definitely pay another visit there soon.

In sense of eateries, the price is how you expect an island would have. But if you look around, you can find relatively cheap restaurants that serves great food. One of them being D'Khas Cafe at Pantai Cenang. Their village fried rice is good! And there are lots of cats going around so it's a bonus for me.

I think I don't have much to say as it is a pretty self-explanatory trip. We spent most of our time by the beach and relaxed ourselves before entering college or matrix for me. I will insert some pictures for your enjoyment.

                Up above the clouds

              SQUAAAAAAAAAAAAD

With that said, it was memory that I will treasure forever. In fact, I'm already missing the girls and the island. If you want to check out more photos, we posted them on Instagram with the #LGKaf. Check them out!!

Till then, take care.

Love, Fatin.

First Review

It's been a while since I post something. There's no reason to make up for it but hey I'm back.

Recently, I purchased a brow product that was expensive enough that I no more longer bother to go into Sephora and check out what's new. You see, I'm going on a trip with my girlfriends (ya it's my first one heeeeee) so I'm so very excited that I decided to splurge my mom's money on something that I feel important to me; brow pomade. As we all know, I can't live without my brows. I feel naked and dead without my brows filled in and shaped. Hence, the purchase lol.

Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade. Retailed in Malaysia for about RM100-RM130. It comes in several shades and trust me, there's a shade for everyone. This highly raved product got me because it claims to be waterproof and smudge proof in a humid country which is suitable for oily skin. I mean, I'm all of that. Malaysia is humid and I'm going somewhere that needs me to be in the water, I have oily skin so that's a lot of expectation to meet, Anastasia.

So it goes on a fateful night where I was scrolling through my Instagram feed when @readywith.cakefaceconfession posted a photo with caption saying "READY STOCK ABH DIPBROW POMADE....." Yada yada yada and believe me, I couldn't think straight when I see the word ready stock. So thanks to Kim (the owner of the instashop) and my mom (for paying it for me) because I've been using it for 2 weeks now.

My review? It is waterproof and smudge proof as long as you don't touch it. But if you do, you will probably find a bit of the product on your hand. As for handling of the product, you need lots and lots of practice. I mean it. Watch as many YouTube video tutorials as you can because this bad boy is a disaster if you got the wrong technique. And to be honest here, Tarte's Amazonian Clay Brow Mousse is waaaaaay easier to use for a newbie in brow gels. But hey I got mine and I'm not complaining.

How I use it; I used a regular angled brow/liner brush and a spoolie to even it out. My shade is Ebony and it's a perfect shade for us, Asians with dark brown-black hair. I removed it by just using a normal makeup wipes. It's not hard to remove it so there shouldn't be any problem.

So as a conclusion, this is a great product but there's an alternative to it which is the Tarte's Brow Mousse (it comes with a brush and RRP is RM116 at Sephora). It served and still serving well for my brows as they are sparse so this product made it look natural without being too much. I love this baby and I would give it a 7/10.

Shoutout to @cakefaceconfession for the best service. You guys should check her out! See you soon.

Fatin

Clear and Glowing Skin.

At least, that's how I do it. It works for me and it has been a year now. No breakouts and no crazy skin days.

I always believe that clean skin is more important than anything. A friend of mine, Alyssa, stated that you should always spend more on skincare rather than makeups and I couldn't agree more. With a clean canvas, your makeup will look better and smoother. So girls and boys, spend some time and money with your skin because you ain't getting a change for your skin.

      Let's start with face wash.

RRP: RM19.00 +/-

If I have lots of money, I would personally pay the chemist of this product. It is beautiful, it works and all its' claim? They live up to it. I have used more than 10 tubes of this and I don't think I can find anything else that works like it. Wallahi, I don't want it to stop working because my skin has been wonderful.

There is one thing about it, it turns bad after a month. There are no preservatives or additives hence the expiration. But I don't really care because I will finish it before it turns bad so.....

On every other nights, I will use this oil all over my face as a moisturizer and serum. Believe it or not, that bottle lasted me for 2 months now. You need only a full drop for the entire face, minus the eyes. It works for clearing acne scars and oil control. It also leaves your skin looking very supple and plump. This product is onky available at Caring with RRP of RM29.90. Yeah, that's a lot of money for 5ml of oil but it works! Give it a try if you are in search for an oil.

On nights where I don't put the oil on and whenever I feel like moisturizing, I would spray these sprays, alternately. To be really honest, the Vitamin E one works better for moisturizing your skin than the thermal spring water one.And better value for money too! RM49.00 for 100ml and that will last you long.  Avene/Evian ones are best for setting your makeup or a refresh to your skin on hot days, So, pick your choice.

Aaaaand that wraps up my skincare products/how I achieve clear skin. I hope this helps a heck load for those who are in search for new skincare products. Give it a try, and if it works, tell me! If it doesn't, tell me too so I can be aware of the reactions. Good luck!

Fatin.

Brow Routine

I kinda promised to do a brow routine so here is one.

It all started back in late 2012/early 2013 where I ventured into the brow trend. You see, chemotherapy didn't leave me with great brows. Instead, it took away my brows. So with some help from Nina, I got my brows back. By filling them in.

My holy grail is definitely the Silkygirl Brow Pencil. Retailed at RM12.90, it does its job pretty darn well. Ever since I used it, I never look back and neither do I try any other products. Silkygirl is a brand that is easily hold of and the price really is a bargain when you are stuck in the middle of nowhere and in need of a brow pencil. Not sure why would you need one but it is easily obtained and doesn't require any other tools, anyway.

I use the pencils whenever I feel lazy and so done with doing my makeup but still needing a lil bit of definition to my face. The black brow pencil is my grandma's actually and I took it. Hehe thanks, Opah. Sayaaaaaang Opah 💕💕💕

On days where I have more time and energy, I would reach for my brow powder. My first brow powder was from Victoria Secret's eye palette. The shade is quite similar to Tarte's brow powder in medium brown. Pictured above is a Coastal Scents' 88 Original Palette and I use the bottom 3 (mixed together) to create my brows.

I use a regular bamboo angled brush to apply the powder and finish it off with a coat of clear brow gel by Essence.

I would start doing my brows by lining the bottom part of it. By that, I have a clean edge and gives me a guide on to where should I fill in. Then, with light and short strokes, I would line the upper part of it. Not too harsh, though as it would make me look very garang and its not always a good thing.

For the tail, I take the brush and according to its angle, I take it down, using my natural tail as a guide. But, I would elongate my tail and make it somehow parallel to the end of my lower lash line. And then I would just fill them in as usual and leaving the front part faded.

Here is a trick, take your brush, put some of the brow gel on it, dip into the shadow pan and apply it to your brows as you normally would. This trick would make your brows look more natural and increase the longevity of your brows. This trick works especially for filling in the middle part and accentuating your tail. Well at least for me it did. Do try this trick and tell me how it works for you!

That's it! That is my brow routine every time you see me. This year I have a resolution to always have my brows on even if it's just kedai Acheh belakang rumah. I feel more confident with my brows on as it completes my face. Either way, do what makes you happy. Because that is all that matters in the end. Good luck!

Holy Grail

Makeup is a way to enhance your beauty. Not a way to make you look like it.
When school ended last year, I was so pumped because I no more longer need to hear my father talking to me about how I dress up and make up older than I am. You see, my father has always been the kind of dads that dislike makeup and heels. Me, on the other hand loves makeup and heels. In fact, I own a couple pairs of heels that is at height of 4 inches. And yes, I use them frequently. So. you can imagine the constant arguments I have with my father regarding my appearances. So when school ends, I felt this surge of happiness because 1) I get to put on makeup everyday and no one can question me why 2) I get to wear heels and dress up so highly, though its just for Main Place.

So recently, I went to stay for a couple of days at my aunt's place. My cousin is a makeup artist. And I love makeups. So, the rest is history and now I have a big bag full of makeups. Yeay to family members with similar passion *dancing emoji*

So today I want to talk about products that I put on my face, most of the time when I want to go out or just feeling myself, really.

Notice how my High Beam got a lil cap on it to stop it from rolling around

Those are my holy grail items. Actually, there are a lot more, but I tend to reach for those more frequent and they work like a charm. Let's talk more about them.

On lazy days, the Garnier BB Cream works like a charm. It doesn't dry your skin and although they have very limited color range, the shade suits me, miraculously might I add. It is also a winner for me because they are quite cheap and easily found! I wouldn't know the actual price as it is a gift but I am sure that it wouldn't exceed RM30.00. Hooray for reasonably priced products!

For occasions or when I need my makeup to stay longer, I would use my True Match. If there is one thing I want to warn everyone about this foundation line is that, take your time finding your shade!!!!!!! Watsons/Guardian/Caring/etc lighting is a pain in the ass and just when you think you got your perfect shade, make sure to confirm it again and again. I learnt that the hard way as the shade that I got is a shade lighter than my skin and I cannot build the coverage without ending up looking like a snow white. Always be sure of your shade. Always.. Other than that, it works well for day time and night time, minus the flash photography. This foundation has a built-in SPF 17. It may cast a white shadow if you take photos with flash on. But hey, for a daily use, it is perfect and doesn't burn that much of a hole in your pocket (RRP: RM56.00 +/-)

The Vitamin E mist is a great alternative to NYX Setting Spray for Dewy. Except it has Vitamin E and rose water, with addition of RM9.00 of NYX's. It is good when you use it alone, too. Talk about skincare-makeup versatility.

The Pore Filler is actually the same as Maybelline's Baby Skin Pore Eraser, except NYX's has a little bit of tint in it. Other than that, both makes you makeup stay longer.

When I first got this palette, I was screaming with joy for 2 minutes straight. Internally. The color pay off is superb, albeit the powdery of it. It is pigmented and at a great price! RM39.90 at Watsons only. The brush that came with it is also a winner. I usually reach for the bronze/gold shades for a wash on the lids and the taupe-y color for blending everything on the crease. The color Nectar works well as highlighter too! Again, versatility of a palette.

Lemme tell you one thing, Benefit rocks. It just do, The mascara is a beauty and a magic potion to us, Asian girls with sparse and downward lashes. The illuminator gives you the perfect glow when you don't feel like packing on a ton of shimmer on your cheekbones. I heart these two products very much.

And last but not least, lipsticks! On normal days, I would reach for my Revlon's Rose Creme (second from right) and MAC's Kinda Sexy (first on the right). These two when combined is a magic and a dream come true. I just love the color combo which is pinkish brown with a hint of nude. The other three are just for events and occasions. They tend to be more bold and needs more drama to the eyes to balance out the color. Other than that, these 5 are my babes and I really need to get a new one for my MAC. It is so worn out, oh god.

I think with all that is said, you should spend money on things that makes you happy. If you like makeup like I do, start slowly with you collection buildup and always take care of your skin because really, if your skin is breaking out, not a single makeup product that cost $100 can cover it. Makeup simply a way to enhance your beauty, not a tool to make you pretty.

Love your skin and self just like how you want to love your mom. Really.

Love, Fatin.

Preface

Hi! I figured I would stop bothering my friends with my sudden invasive and provocative thoughts and start writing a blog. Having written a few blogs previously got me so embarrassed as the posts were very immature, but hey at least I grow up.

At least, that is what I think.

Here I will be writing more about anything and everything. But if you need specifics, it would be more of makeups and philosophic thoughts. If you are into those stuffs, come and join me on my journey to start writing and broadcasting my thoughts! Wooooo

I hope this blog will be a success for me, and a pleasant reading for you.

Love, Fatin
